Némat Azarm, exilé en France depuis 1982, fait partie des poètes iraniens qui ont pris en main la poésie en tant qu'outil de lutte contre la répression du régime du Shah. Cette lutte les a amenés à être emprisonnés avec d'autres intellectuels de l'époque.
N. Azarm, témoigne : il nous décrit le régime autoritaire du Shah, la révolution populaire, confisquée par les Mollahs et les causes d'exils des Iraniens. Dans ses poèmes composés en exil il exprime sa douleur face à l'obligation de vivre sur une terre étrangère qui ne lui appartient pas.
"Pourquoi me toiser ainsi des pieds à la tête, ô homme?
M'appartient aussi une patrie qui m'est plus chère que la vie.
Et pendant des années, vers la voie de sa prospérité
je m'acheminais ayant sur les épaules ma potence.
Et la vague d'un soudain accident, m'a lancé ainsi vers toi!
Mais où que je sois
Je ne respire que l'air de ma patrie".

 

J. Golmakani est journaliste-réalisateur d’origine iranienne. En 1977 il commence sa carrière comme rédacteur-photographe à Téhéran. En 1982 il se trouve en France. En 1989 il obtient un Doctorat en cinéma-télévision à la Sorbonne. Sa recherche sur L’image de l’Iran à la télévision française est publiée aux Editions L’Harmattan, préfacé par Marc Ferro. 

Depuis vingt ans il réalise des films documentaires pour la télévision française, notamment :

 Dreams of a Poet in Exile

Nemat Azarm, who has been living in exile in France since 1982, is one of the Iranian poets who used poetry in his struggle against repression under the Shah's regime. This struggle lead to his imprisonment alongside that of other intellectuals at the time.
Nemat Azarm bears witness: he describes the authoritarian regime of the Shah, the revolution taken over by the Mullahs and the reasons why certain Iranians were banished. In his poems written in exile, he expresses his suffering at the idea of having to love in a foreign land that is not his own.
"Why cover me from head to foot in this way, fellow man?
I too have a homeland that is dearer to me than life itself.
And for years, on the road toward its prosperity
I rode with my own burden to bear
And the advent of a sudden event thus cast me towards you!
However, wherever I may be
I breath but the air of my homeland".

 

J. Golmakani is an Iranian-French filmmaker, author and journalist. In 1977 he began his career as a photojournalist in Tehran-Iran. In 1982 he emigrated to France where he studied and received a Doctorate in Cinema and Television from Sorbonne University. He is the author of Image of Iran on French Television. Golmakani has produced and directed many documentary films for French television as well as many other television companies outside of France.
